Horizontal shift is about seeing other dimensions since it is often needed to consider different aspects in a business. Dimensions are also called as ''Layer''.
In order to demonstrate different dimensions and to be able to shift the focus to specific aspects, Prime Arch's framework is structured in 6+1 layers where each layer demonstrates a logical coherent aspect of the business.
Those 6 layers are:
- Strategy
- Business
- Information
- Technology
- Realization
- Security
Strategy contains elements that have a strategic character, to accomplish the comprehensive development and governance of a business. This comprises elements such as Vision, Goal and Capability.
Business contains elements that describe how the business is carried out and who has carried it out, whether mutually or isolated.
Information contains elements that describe the structure of information and the meaning of terms. Here, the description of information-based products and business term mappings could be done.
Technology contains elements that describe technological resources and systems, both at an application- and infrastructural level.
Realization contains elements that describe how the architecture is implemented and when. For example there are projects, milestones and places.
Security is a special layer that primarily contains description of views that are used in order to describe how elements in other layers are used for achieving the desired security and minimizing the prioritized risks. This layer contains a few elements such as Risk and Threat.
In addition to the abovementioned, there is also a seventh layer which groups meta objects that can be connected to each and all of those other different layers.
Prime Arch is 100% matched with SKL/Inera's framework which means that following Prime Arch Core is following SKL/Inera's standards.
