A visual description of how value is developed at a comprehensive level in the business. The model is an extended version of the process model with focus on demonstrating which organization carries out each process step.

Purpose

The aim of the model is to show the integration between different organizations. It is even used for describing the current situation and target situation where the focus is on describing the interfaces between different organizations.

Way of Working

  1. Start from an existing process model (PFM-1).
  2. Identify which organizations carry out the process steps and create a swim line for each organization.
  3. In order to describe the current situation, Organizational Team (O41) is used and for the target situation, the Organizational Role (O42) is used. I case of the absence of teams or if general responsibilities are needed to be shown, Organizational Unit (O31) or Business Role (O32) is used instead.
