A visual description of how value is developed between processes on a very comprehensive level. The description is simplified showing processes and input/output in a flow as well as other dimensions that are relevant to be shown. The flow is grouped in either process groups, which show the process' hierarchical composition in the process map, or in a process flow, which shows the process' end-to-end limit regardless of process group.
Purpose
The process description is used to in a simple way communicate how the value is developed in the business and which dependencies it has to other processes and dimensions. It is also used to navigare the underlying process models.
Way of Working
1. Place the process group as a background
2. Place the processes within respective process group in the logical sequence from left to right in which the collaborate.
3. Connect the processes with business objects, place, application modules, organizational units etc
(A prerequisite is that the processes have been identified beforehand. This is an extensive job that is done in workshops.)
