A visual description of the development of the value creation on a general level within the business. The model is an extended version of PFM-1 that shows more dimensions such as application, organization, physical place and rule.
Purpose
The goal of the flow model is to show the integration in different dimensions, for example considering organization, rules and places. It is even used to describe the current situation and target situation where the focus is on describing how an improvement could happen..
Way of Working
- Start from an existing process model (PM).
- Decide the model's goal and agree on which meta objects should be modeled in.
- Complete the process model with the agreed meta objects.
- Expand it to left or right and put in process steps from other processes if needed.
- In order to show the differences between the current situation and the target situation, two different process models are required to be taken into consideration. Analyze the differences afterwards.
