An information environment model is a visual description of which other objects a certain entity group is related to. It usually contains a selection of surrounding objects and relationships to support a specific analysis.

Purpose (Use)

The information environment model is used to analyze relationships to other objects. It is also used to create relationships that cannot be accommodated in other models (to avoid messy composition models).

Way of working

  1. Place your entity group in the center of the model.
  2. Use the EA tool's functionality to bring out the relationships and objects of interest.
