Sparx is a comprehensive EA tool supporting multiple different frameworks. Without any configuration what so ever, the standard is the UML notation. It is even possible to install other configurations such as Archimate and Zachman or develop custom configurations.

A configuration cosists primarily of three things:

  1. Stereotypes for element and relations
  2. Diagram types
  3. Toolboxes

Prime Arch's configuration for Sparx consists of:

Stereotypes for objects and relations

Object

  • 31 objects in Prime Arch Core
  • 143 objects in Prime Arch Extended divided by 17 different dimensiones

Each object has its own Prime Arch symbol which is designed with help of shapescripts.

Relations

  • 72 relations connected to toolboxes

In the following, objects and relations are shown in the Process toolbox:

Diagram Types

Diagram type is chosen when a diagram is created. There are 18 diagram types in total:

  • 1 for Prime Arch Core
  • 17 for Prime Arch Extended

Toolboxes

There is a toolbox for each diagram type, therefore 18 toolboxes in total.

Functions

There is a whole bunch of updates in version 4. Read more here:
