How is a business that develops over time described?

Is it the same object that changes or is it replaced by a new object?

With dimensions, it is possible to describe various aspects of a business, such as processes, application and information. And levels make it possible to choose the level of detail to find the right precision in the business models.

To describe an activity in different time perspectives, you can create different diagrams, for example one that shows the current situation and one that shows a desired situation. But as the question in the introduction puts the finger on, it is not entirely clear what is to be modeled. Is it the same object that has been changed to content and surroundings, or is it a completely new object that replaces the old object?

As usual, Prime Arch relies on standards and best practice. Many standards such as ArchiMate use meta-objects to represent a time-bound state, commonly called a plateau or milestone. But there is a lack of clear guidelines and guidance that describes how to think about objects that are to be linked to a time-bound state - is it the same or is it a new object?

To answer the question, we have chosen to study the great thinkers of antiquity and the classic problem with Theseus' ships. We use an example from the world of sports to illustrate what happens to an organization over time as it gradually changes. Of course, we link it to Prime Arch and its meta-objects.
