Description

Policy is a brief document on a comprehensive level about specific strategically important areas. It is guiding the way for the decision-making and control. A policy contains fundamental viewpoints and desired directions.

Regulations are a set of instructions based on laws and constitutions. 

Guideline is a document which contains an order or recommendation for example for how a policy should be followed. A comprehensive guidance for following a policy. 

Routines describes how activities should be carried out. For support, there are check lists, templates and forms etc.

SKL/Inera: Does not have Rule.

Archimate: Does not have Rule.

TOGAF: Does not have Rule.

OMG: Rule is defined in BMM (Business Motivation Model) and exists as Business Policy and Business Rule. Furthermore, there is even Regulation defined as an External Influencer.
