A visual description of how it is planned that the applications at a modular level should exchange information with each other. The description is simplified in order to describe the requirement for information exchange.
Purpose
The IFD-view consists of an overall image of information flows, usually in a specific application area. This view type is used to identify the requirement for the integration points as well as the information that should be transferred.
Way of Working
- Choose some of the logically related application areas, for example from an information flow, a service flow of a process group.
- Identify those applications that are included in the intermediate flow (See IM).
- Identify those application modules that are a part of the flow.
- Identify which information objects need to be transferred. (Start from the list of identified and confirmed information objects)
- Connect the objects to the flows.
