An information map is an overall grouping of information which are processed by the business in order to create structure.
Purpose
The information map is used to navigate to underlying information descriptions. It is also used to create an overview of which information domains and information groups exist in a business.
Way of working
- Lay out the information domains as a background.
- Place the information groups within the respective information domain.
A prerequisite is that information domains and information groups have already been identified. This is a very extensive work which is dealt with separately.
