Smaller work packages that contain the various parts that are to be developed to achieve a functional goal in terms of a delimitation in time and cost.

Description

The time limit is usually set to 2-3 weeks calendar time and resources are limited to what a specific team can achieve on their own.

A sprint can be implemented independently and is usually a subset of a release.

In the same way that process steps (N4) contain activities (N5), sprints contain the work steps required to achieve the requested result - one or more features. Unlike a recurring process, the work package is completely unique.

In agile development frameworks such as SAFe, the release for Iteration is defined as "a time box where an Agile Release Team (ART) delivers value in the form of functional and tested software and systems. PIs are usually two to three weeks long."

Example
